Peru Circus

My Mother was born outside of Peru, Indiana. Growing up, there had always been a circus there. I had not questioned why. I suppose I just accepted it. As an adult, I learned that Peru was one of only 2 places in the country where circuses would spend the off-season. In 2004, My Wife and I loaded up photo and lighting gear, baby gear, and our 2 toddler boys, and headed for "Circus City". I had planned to spend a day shooting the circus performers. Severe weather delayed us but I was able to spend a half a day. These performers are direct descendants of well know circus performers such as the Flying Wallendas. Unfortunately, I never made it back there. Shot on 6x8 color negative film.
